Daphne Kgalaletso Briscoe

Qualification and Experience

Daphne Briscoe is a Motswana lawyer with over 35 years’ practical experience. Daphne studied law at the Universities of Botswana and Edinburgh, and also at S.O.A.S. in London. She is an Attorney, Conveyancer, and Notary Public of the High Court of Botswana. She established Briscoe Attorneys in 1994 and has focused on commercial law, civil litigation, conveyancing and property matters, debt collection, matrimonial disputes and labour related matters. She also advises on estate planning including wills and winding up of estates. She has appeared in the Magistrate Courts, the Industrial Court, the High Court, the Court of Appeal, and has successfully fought cases in aspects of law such as environmental law and zoning that other lawyers have no experience of.

Daphne has served as a board member at both Air Botswana and the Bank of Botswana, where she was also appointed as the Bank’s first independent Chairperson of the Board. She was also a member of the 2036 National Vision team and later appointed to the 2036 National Vision Council.
